Gift of Giving

Me and my Older Brother were big fans of Calvin and Hobbes as kids, we loved those comics. And seeing how the Complete Collection was well outside my budget for gifts this year I went the extra mile and drew him a print.

My own gifts don't even matter much anymore, I'm taking a lot more out of giving surprising and extra-ordinary gifts then I ever had getting gifts. I think that's a lesson everyone learns eventually; It's not what you get that matters, it's what you give.
It's the Gift of Giving.

Happy Holidays!

Thoughts are where Babies come from.

I'm Vacationing in FL this weekend so I decided to share with you guys a odd, jaw dropping coincidence that occurred on my way down.

I was sitting on my JetBlue flight from NJ to FL with my father and as the plane was taking off I had a strange thought come to me. I turned to my dad and asked "What if a woman gave birth mid-flight?" My dad jokes a lot and he knew I was joking. And I figure no woman would be flying that close to birth, but it raised several questions in my head. Would they charge an extra seat? If they were full would they ask someone to move to the bathroom stall? What state is she born in?

Now to the jaw dropping situation, a mere hour later thanks to the TV built in to the seats of JetBlue, I saw this n the news: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1921607,baby-born-birth-flight-midway-120409.article

My jaw was on the ground for literally 5 minutes before I picked it back up, my dad just looked at me, we both sat there absorbing this rather curious and coincidental moment.

This is a weird world we live in.

Gravedigger

It's getting close to Halloween and the CG Talk Daily Sketch Forum is posting some pretty haunting Daily Sketch topics. For months I've been trying to motivate myself in to participating in the Daily Sketches, so I managed to today with their "Grave Digger" topic. I won't lie, I thought of the Monster Truck at first, bypassing that thought I found myself sketching this guy. I imagine the stereotype for Gravediggers is someone who looks as if they've been on the job a long time. Like an old or really muscular person. A least in horror stories it would be. Though maybe this guy just had no other choice? Fired from his last job and this was the only available option. My thoughts at least.

I also started sketching out a comic strip about the guy. Should be nice.
